Dear community,
Over the past month, Clean Shelter has been tirelessly working to improve the lives of displaced families in Gaza. Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve accomplished significant milestones:
Expansion of Aid Work to Northern Gaza Strip: Established a new team working in Gaza City, where they carried on the construction of 10 fully equipped toilets, complete with sewage pits and essential infrastructure, ensuring improved sanitation for the community. Additionally, established a drainage system to manage rainwater effectively, and installed three water tanks (1,500 liters each) to provide access to clean water for washing and drinking, addressing critical hygiene and water access needs.
Improved Shelter Against Rain: Covered and reinforced hundreds of tents, ensuring families stay dry and protected during heavy rains.
Support for Education: Repaired existing school structures in Khan Younis and built a new community school in Mesk and Layan IDP camp, providing children with a total of 13 safe spaces to learn and grow and support their devoted teachers.
Winter Relief Distribution: Purchased and delivered to Gaza 1,000 children's winter jackets and 1,000 warm blankets. These will be distributed by our team to families in Al-Mawasi, helping them face the harsh winter months with warmth and dignity.
Repairing Al-Mawasi's Sewage System: Engaged in repairing the collapsed sewage system in Mesk and Layan and Zomi IDP camps following its failure in December, addressing critical sanitation and health concerns for the community.
We are also honored to share that Clean Shelter has received the Suzy & Wally Marks Jr. Trailblazer Award for 2025, recognizing our innovative work and commitment to crisis relief and community rebuilding.
