Newsletter February 2025
27.02.2025
Dear community,
February has been a significant month for Clean Shelter as we continue expanding our relief efforts in Gaza and sharing our work with new communities. Here’s an overview of what we’ve been working on:
Distribution of Kitchen Kits: Recognizing the dire need for basic household essentials, we have distributed kitchen kits to 100 families in Gaza City who have returned from the south with almost nothing—moving from one tent to another but unable to find stability. Each kit includes plates, cups, spoons, cooking pots, washing liquid, and a loofah, providing families with the basic essentials to cook and eat with dignity.
Distribution of Thermal Suits for Women: Recognizing the harsh winter conditions and the vulnerability of displaced women, we have initiated the distribution of thermal suits to provide warmth and comfort to more than a hundred women in Gaza City.
Delivering 21 cubic meters of drinking water in Gaza City, targeting 200 displaced families residing next to their demolished homes.
Sharing Our Work in the U.S.: This month, Clean Shelter’s co-founders travelled to the United States to present our work and engage in discussions about the humanitarian needs in Gaza. They spoke at Yale University, Duke University, The Woodrow Wilson Center, and other institutions, meeting with students, faculty, and professionals interested in understanding grassroots emergency response efforts. These conversations helped highlight the immediate challenges faced by displaced communities and the importance of sustainable humanitarian solutions.
Lastly, to tackle the water crisis with concrete action, we are launching a major water project in six neighborhoods of Khan Younis. This initiative will provide clean drinking water to 120,000 people by installing surface water networks and public faucets. Many residents have lost their homes and rely on public infrastructure for basic needs. The project costs $60,000 USD and is set for completion by the end of March. We plan to expand similar projects soon, as clean water access remains critical amid ongoing displacement and destruction in Gaza.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress.
